OK, who do I sound like: "Hey, Kent, this is a great topic for a discussion instead of a comment! Why don't you start one so we can keep the thread together and make it easy to find?"

:)

I am SOOOOO on board with your new workshop idea! I have LOTS of ideas to share about it! Mostly because I do this type of coaching on a one-to-one basis! (along with some group coaching events. They are a HUGE help to people!) You have a goldmine here.

Maureen and Jeff...I've thought about adding this to the boot camp, but I see this as:

  • 1/2 day teaching SPEAK UP preparation system in detail
  • 1/2 day for you to prepare your presentation using the SPEAK UP system
  • Full day of presenting a large segment of your keynote (20-30 minutes). Video taping it and critiquing it.

Does that make sense?

Here! Here! I like the three day idea as well. Attend one or both as a combo platter. Presenting or watching will be a learning experience just the same. ANd Kent, if you want some help trying to design and coordinate it, let us help you. Woot! Woot!

BTW, just walked out of training session I chaired for a local construction company on Agility and Adaptability in the work place. Loads of fun and get to do it three more times this year. Love using story telling in a learning environment. WOot! Woot! again.

Kent, I see tremendous value in that idea.  I also like Maureen's idea of adding it as a third day to Boot Camp.  I remember getting some great ideas from our one day Mastermind meetings.

Kent, I LOVE the idea for your Speak Up Conference! If you think you have the energy, why not offer it as a third day option after the Boot Camp? My other coaches Darren LaCroix and Patricia Fripp do this kind of format. They offers 2 different programs back to back over a 3 day period. They are priced separately as well as a package for both if people want to attend both. With one of the presentation coaching programs, there are two price options: a participant who gets coached on speaking skills, and the observer who watches the process.

Justin...not yet. Still trying to decide if we do a Boot Camp vs. a SPEAK UP conference.

Kent,
The new conference idea sounds like a great option. I'll be interested in hearing more as this idea develops.

Jeff...right now it's schedule for the first week of November :)

With that said, I'm thinking about doing something different this fall. Instead of doing the boot camp, I'm thinking of doing a SPEAK UP Conference. Limiting it to 12 people and making it a high-end conference. Basically, we work for a day in a small group on developing and/or enhancing your presentation according to the SPEAK UP preparation system. Then, for the next 1.5 days, you get a chance to present 20-30 minutes. We video tape it. We also critique it. The idea is for each of the 12 people to walk out with a killer presentation.

I've been getting a lot of request for this and I don't want to do just another "develop your speech" conference. I want it to be THE BEST conference on not only how to develop your presentation, but on actually walking away with the finished product of a killer presentation.

What do you think?
