Hi SIF Friends,

Today, I will be preaching what probably is my most controversial sermon to date.

Am I a little nervous?
Yes.

Am I prepared?
Yes (though like most, I probably could be more so)

Will the message be heard and understood?
Yes. This is almost entirely because the message is built on a very strong, but easy to understand anchor.

Will the message stick?
It should. Like a good story, there will be tension and resolution -- and it has been built on the SPEAK UP system.

-

One of the best strategies for developing a presentation that I have ever applied into my tool-set was Kent's SPEAK UP presentation development checklist. SPEAK UP and it's secrets were what started me down the path of "noteless" (and super-engaging) speaking.

Before SPEAK UP, I scripted everything, and was tied to my notes. Now, even though I have notes (as a backup in case technology fails for my scripture quotes), I have never used them.

Before begging Kent to teach you SPEAK UP, or even attending the bootcamp, be warned that just knowing the checklist will change you. All your presentations won't be the same, and you won't look at anyone else's presentations the same either. Be sure to laugh inside when you see others committing the big presentation mistakes -- because you don't want to be mean about it. :)

Just last weekend, I was talking to a lady at the church I attend about speaking. While she has never preached up front (that I know of), I found out that she does speak at meetings at work. I shared two things with her that I have learned

  1. Kent's Anchor System;
  2. A story-based tip I read about in a book about business communication

and it rocked her thinking. I'm eager to ask her in a few weeks how she's applied this information into her own communication journey, because prior to our conversation, she had been stuck in a speaking rut.

-

Now I'm off to get the final pieces ready for the big event. I'll be using one of my more elaborately designed props to help simplify the somewhat abstract truth I want to share.

Wish me luck!

~Cam

If you've been on the fence about attending the Killer Keynote Conference on May 19-20, don't wait any longer. ONLY 1 SEAT IS LEFT!

Wondering if it's worth your investment? Check out this video and then read the testimonies below...

Testimonies:

"The Killer Keynote Conference showed me a BETTER way of developing and delivering a speech. Don’t even bother going anywhere else or to anyone else—Kent Julian has THE MODEL you are looking for to develop and deliver an EPIC message that will get you booked. The whole SPEAK UP™ paradigm is very practical, easy-to-follow, and just plain awesome! “Anchors” and the “clothesline” concept were game changers for me and allowed me to speak without notes for the first time in over 20 years of speaking and thousands of presentations!" -Jerome Wade

"I have been to presentation conferences before. They have been very helpful, but the Killer Keynote Conference was so different! The content is incredibly powerful and presented in a way I could easily understand. And even though it was a bit scary, I loved the opportunity to give my presentation live and hear immediate feedback. The interaction with everyone was so positive and encouraging, and I love the fact that the conference is purposefully kept so small that Kent is available to address specific questions and concerns you have before your presentation. I attended the Speak It Forward Boot Camp as well, which was outstanding and incredibly helpful on the business side of speaking. However, I would not have understood the idea of “anchors” and many of the other aspects for developing and delivering a powerful presentation unless I attended the Killer Keynote Conference. Since attending both conference just 6 months ago, I have already booked 6 paid speaking engagements!" - Brenda Nevitt

Claim the last seat for the Killer Keynote Conference on May 19-20!

Absolutely Greg!

The greatest competitive advantage you have as a speaker is "stick-to-it-tiveness." If you have the attitude of "no matter how hard it is or how long it takes, I'm going to make it," you instantly put yourself in the top 10 percent of people who say they want to be a speaker.

I wanted to know that I did everything humanly possible to play pro football, and if I did all I could and still didn’t make it, I could live with that. But I wanted to leave no doubt.

I just read an article about Andrew Hawkin's long struggle to play in the NFL and this statement caught my attention. Can we substitute "speak, coach, or write for a living" in place of "play in the NFL" and feel good about it?

In fact, fill in the blank;

I wanted to know that I did everything humanly possible to ____________________. If I did all I could and still didn’t make it, I could live with that. But I wanted to leave no doubt.
