Comment by Desirae Howell on May 8, 2013 at 10:21am Although I've technically been a member of the 48 Days community for several months, I've never actually utilized it. I guess that makes me a newbie. In recent months, I left my full-time, high-stress job and have been proofreading and writing resumes/cover letters. I'm curious what most of the other members in this group do. Thanks!
Comment by Diane Krause on August 12, 2012 at 9:10am Hi Guys,
I do proofreading, copy editing, line editing, and can even do developmental editing, although I consider Erin Casey to be the expert in that area.
I've done freelance jobs for several of our 48Days members, and I currently work as a book editor for Sterling & Stone, a digital publishing company -- mainly line editing and copy editing. I can provide references.
I would be happy to discuss any project needs. My direct contact is diane@thewritingrange.com.
Comment by Derek Olsen on August 12, 2012 at 8:51am Hello, Proofreaders.
I am also in need of editing/proofreading help. (Actually, someone told me what I really need is a "line editor.")
Please message me if you are interested or know someone who might be. I will email you the book and ask for your opinion and a quote. (Yes, I would like to go the paid for service route.)
Thanks
Derek
Hi Kent, I just e-mailed you about your e-book.
Comment by Diane Krause on February 16, 2012 at 8:30am Kent -- I'm interested! Just sent you an email at info@liveitforward.com.
Comment by Kent Julian on February 16, 2012 at 7:42am Not sure how active this group is, but I have a little project. I have a Goal Getting e-book that I'm creating that needs proofing. It will probably be 15,000-20,000 words.
For printable books, I go the editing route...but for a project like this, I keep it simple and just look for someone to proof read it and clean it up. I don't expect perfection, but I am looking for excellence.
My budget is limited for this project, but I'd be willing to barter if that would be of more value to you (I have several ideas). Also, I need a pretty quick turn around....a couple of weeks max.
If interested, post here or email me at info@liveitforward.com
Comment by Andrea Reynolds on August 26, 2011 at 10:49am Quick intro: I've proofread books for four members of 48Days.net (as well as books by other authors) and, as a result, have had my services recommended to other 48Days' authors. My background includes decades of promoting authors, publishing since 1981, and writing dozens of my own self-help, how-to manuals, books, special reports, tips booklets and subscription-paid newsletters.
I like to work within authors' budget requirements and schedules as possible. If you will send me your completed manuscript to be proofread, in confidence, I'll give you a free estimate, often with several options.
