I used to be an airline pilot. If I can leave a six-figure job and start my own business unrelated to my major, you can too. I help people start their business and do it full time. I'm also a Professor at the Free Agent Academy, a group Dan Miller started in 2007 to help support people in becoming self-employed.
I host a few weekly shows, among them the No More Mondays Show and Coach Radio. You can read more about my story, but this is a group for you. Jump in and let's make it happen.

George,
Read your blog, and I was able to read it only by squinting. The white lettering on a dark background is hard on the eyes. I have attempted to use that format on my Ipad while reading books in bed in the dark, but it just doesn't lend itself to easy reading. My eyes eventually get strained.
Since you are not a fan of white, any other color you pick could serve your purpose as a background if it was light colored with black or dark colored text.
Your article was also good. It is too easy for me to spend money on materials in the self-improvement category, and before I know it I have over spent!

I really enjoyed reading your blog. I agree with Jeff about changing the background color. The white on black made each of the lines appear blurred and highlighted in white (of course my procrastination on visiting the eye doctor may be contributing to the blurriness). I'm looking forward to your future posts.

Comment by Marianne Clements on November 7, 2011 at 8:26am Good post George. I agree -- take advantage of the free stuff until you can afford to pay for the best. The most important thing is to take action on what you learn, otherwise it's just useless knowledge.
Have a Victorious Day!

Comment by Justin Lukasavige on November 7, 2011 at 7:41am I actually like the way the black/white looks, George. (Just got around to commenting, by the way.)
I ran it by my wife though, and she had some thoughts. She subscribes to a blog with a similar design. Though she likes it, she said she can't read it for very long. Probably that focus thing that Jeff mentioned.
Great post George on your blog - I especially like the comment, "So, what do you do when you want to grow but you are limited by your wallet or your purse?"
I use the library all the time - I call it my free Amazon, because I can go online, order books from across the state and have them delivered to my local library for pick-up by me all for free.
Now - a little feedback on your blog - typically, in most cases - black backgrounds with white lettering is not a good format for reading. It's distracting and is difficult to focus on. I recommend changing your background, try some different shades of color and go with a different color font. The old faithful for writing on the web is white background with black font.
Blessings,
Jeff
