Is it Possible? It sure is, I've done it.

I left a longtime job of over seven years as a Captain at a National Airline to start my own Coaching business in Raleigh, NC. While flying airplanes did not allow me to use very much of the passion I have for life, it did provide a steady paycheck of nearly $100,000 per year.

I actually left the airline on good terms (by choice) instead of reluctantly. I was #200 on a seniority list of over 2,000 pilots. Life was great, but my wife and I weren't happy. So I took control of my life and decided to work within my passions.

Christine and I designed the perfect life and then planned a career that fit into it. I not only made the jump after careful planning, but I actually got a raise when I did. Now I get to help individuals, families and small businesses recapture the Freedom.

If you want to take your business to more than $10,000 per month in less than 2 years, then join in the discussion and let's learn from each other!

You'll also be encouraged each week by my radio show, Coach Radio. Send your questions and learn how to make the transition into work you love.

I just started this discussion on taking payment from clients. Any questions I can answer next week on Coach Radio?

Wow, I totally missed that comment from Toby on software. Derek just recorded a video about the software he uses.

It's here on YouTube

Toby, my wife and I have gone to the full on-line route when managing our finances. We are members of Dave Ramsey's subscription site (www.mytmmo.com), and we use the budget software on that site. We keep our checkbook register on a Google Documents spreadsheet. Since we work on a number of different computers, this setup allows us to update our finances from any computer with an Internet connection. Hope that helps!

What personal finance software do you use or recommend? Mint.com, Quicken, etc...

Delete Comment You have a group of over 200 people working through similar ideas Howard and I for a living I help clients do the same. What can we help you with?

It would be helpful for you to start a discussion above and explain in as much detail as you can, where you are and what we can do to help.

Justin,
I am new to 48days.net, but am ready to start my business plan for a website idea I have. Does anyone have experience with this? I need a place to start...

Thanks for inviting me to the Leap group!

Great question Brandon. At some point, everyone tries something new without having any experience. When you first learned to walk you did it without any previous experience, but that didn't stop you from doing it.

Of course, you must be competent in the field and know what you're doing before you meet with a client.

hi Justin.
Just joined 48days.net. I read a post on here from October. someone had mentioned they wanted to do financial counseling from home. I am a nurse who will be traveling from place to place every few months. I like nursing but have desired to have my own business for awhile. I love finances and helping others. Ive always wanted to help build business's and advise. I am however 27 years old with little experience in any of this (only getting myself out of debt several years ago using dave ramseys techniques). I would love to have my own home based financial advising business to help others and be able to travel. But I dont know where or how to even get started! Is it unethical for me to offer these services to people when Ive got little to no experience in them myself? Thanks so much for any input. I feel lost....
