According to Barna research, many churches across the country are struggling financially because of the current economic environment. Of course it's not hard to figure that unemployment is negatively impacting giving which impacts church budgets. Interestingly, I have heard of very few churches who seem to be confronting this issue through entrepreneurship. The typical advice seems to be pray, improve your resume, go to a job interview class, network, etc.
However, I believe a viable solution to the unemployment issue is faith-based entrepreneurship. So how is your church confronting the issue of unemployment in your membership and community? Do you believe faith-based entrepreneurship is a solution?
Thanks for your feedback!

Permalink Reply by Patrick Verbeten on March 25, 2011 at 4:01pm I like your thinking. Unfortunately, we've been hoodwinked into thinking "this is church and that is secular." Draw us back to your Truth, LORD. If the church only knew that when its members prosper through entrepreneurship, the bottom line of the church will prosper also.
So what are your ideas to make it happen? Do you have anything working successfully to report?

Permalink Reply by Amy Thrash on March 4, 2012 at 5:59am Faith Chapel Christian Center teaches that God is our source and He can provide in spite of economy, also giving is the key to getting. They also list job openings and provide for the those who are temporarily without work. The most important thing they do is help build our faith in the truth that we can get employment.
