Know Your Niche - Own Your Market

What sets you apart? Other people say they offer what you do. So if you are in a room with 10 of them...why should anyone use you?

So...what sets you apart?

A high percentage of businesses ultimately fail...or struggle along in survival mode, because they have never differentiated themselves from the crowd. Look around at all of the flourishing businesses in your community and with each and every one, you can see where they own a particular niche.

Whatever you say you do...there are others who claim the same thing:
- What sets you apart?
- What do you specialize in?
- What is unique about your business?

I'm launching my new site Audio Blog Pro I'm offering my services for FREE to Bloggers on 48Days.Net. All I ask is that you leave a comment on the Accolades tab and LIKE my fanpage. What I'm offering is to convert 2 of your blogposts to audio -creating an audio version so readers on the go can have the option of reading or listening to your blog. A link to your blogpost and a copy of the file will remain on my site in the media library. You can either add a link to the post on my site directly or upload the file to your site. Either way it should improve traffic to your site and create additional value for your readers. To get started simply email me the links of the two blogposts you would like to have "Trebled!" Please include 48Days in the subject line: athrash@audioforblog.com

Love the church kitchens idea. Gonna mention that to my Pastor. I've always believed that most churches waste more usable space than anyone else. Most use a fully functional building maybe 20% of the week. Is that good stewardship?

Skeeter - I'm with you...great perspective. Church kitchens are a great idea! Seriously...that is wise thinking.

Just finished reading BootstrappersBible by Godin off

http://www.joshspeters.com/all-of-seth-godins-free-ebooks-in-one-place

a link that one of ya'll posted, now I'm all the more fired up. One of the concepts in there was there reaches a time when you need to stop planning and just do it. My quandary: Investing my time finding a place with a kitchen I can cheap-as-free "rent" or paying to have a churches kitchen licensed to use theirs ($210). What do you think?

We are going through our marketing course live every week right now. None of us has arrived...as marketing changes to rapidly these days. How to influence people is a moving target.

Kevin, I've really been toying with FAA as a 'marketing plan'! Not for exposure but for education.....Love the stuff....I am already self employed, but just not the right fit....

Great to see you producing Eric. Here is the deal though...the idea of 'Build it and they will come...' doesn't really work. We'd all like to think we could put great content out there in cyberspace and folks would just flock to it. It would go 'viral' is the big dream. Very, very seldom. Not my stuff! We have to find a funnel to get new eyes to our stuff. Something intentional. What's your marketing plan for getting exposure?

Alright, after countless hours of podcasts, books, websites and such, my wordpress site is plain but functional. I have posted 14 blogs, but I have 88 drafts ready to go! My first ebook is ready to go online, (as of 1:am this morning!).....So, do I give the ebook away to drive traffic? What's next? How do I get the ebook 'out there'? Suggestions? Thanks....

Nina - There is a lot of info out on creating eBooks. Tons. You can get a fancy cover made, set up an online shopping cart to sell and deliver it...not all that difficult. The bigger issue is how you're going to get to your target audience
