I am working with a friend of mine to launch a card game that brings history to life. He has created and tested the gameplay. Our next stage of development is having all the cards with artwork that we have the rights too. Only about 10% of the art on the free cards do we know we can legal use for resale.
These cards will be 3"x5" so the art is focused on being smaller. The game will start with 4 empires: Romans, Huns, Ancient Chinese, and Egypt. The art is vital to help bring these characters and events to life as people play the game.
Here is the link to view existing cards http://empiresandgeneralsromanrepublic.blogspot.com/?view=snapshot.
I would love to get your thoughts and/or interest in this project.
Thank you J.B.

Permalink Reply by J.B. Farrell on February 28, 2013 at 8:32am We would like something that inspires the imagination (as you can see the cards feature different things so there will be variety). Our goal is to make history interesting, fun, social, and alive to participants.
If you have ever looked at magic cards, the graphic detail and imagination inspiring (not usually in a great way), that is our thought. We want that quality and creativity without the demonic feel.

Were you able to check out what we have so far on the website? (Most of those images have to be changed. Either we don't own the rights, or don't know if we can use them... They are just thoughts)
Permalink Reply by Brad Leslie on March 13, 2013 at 7:46pm I'm still deep in the learning curve on digital works; I've only recently starting experimenting with it. I'll see if I can get some stuff together that I think is good enough for you to look at, though. My stuff tends to be kinda comic-booky (drawing super-heroes as a child is what got me interested in what a pencil can do), but if you think it fits with what you have in mind, I'll see what I can do.
Gotta say, though, I think Brett might be someone to talk to. What I've seen of his stuff is fantastic!

Hey JB, I have a Bachelor of Fine Art degree and have done game design and web design. I use photoshop and my classical training to create strong artwork. Thanks to Dan's No More Mondays I went back to work for myself and am really interested in your project. You can view some of my work at www.Artipreneur.com (an inspired name from Dan's Eaglepreneur). Please give me a shout and let's talk.
