Hey Everybody, I am going to try and be a bit more active here. I need a good engineering type picture to replace the one I have. Any recommendations?

Hey Everybody.  I always read the comments but I don't often post.  I'm coming down to the wire on something that I could use your help on.  I only have a couple days left on my Kickstarter launch.  I know, I know I should have let you know first thing.  But anything any of you can do to help I'd be ever so grateful.  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1319775277/fused-glass-kiln-and... Thanks for all the inspiration you all give me every week!  My current full time employment is in a reference laboratory.

I have been working as a bridge designer. Last year, I started a personal training business and that fits my personality much better. I have 11 weeks of work left be for I quit my job and start working on my education to become a better strength and conditioning coach.

I look forward to hearing about others chasing their dreams and hope my adventure is encouraging to others.

I have been an electrical technician for the last 8 years and gotten by nuclear engineering degree, and i have always felt stifled in my job, where i never have the power to change anything and the doldrums starve my creativity. I hope to develop a product design and production company based on 3d printing technology.

I look forward to reading your stories and learning form you all

After 12 years of working in technology roles, I have finally made the leap to full time self-employment. I know technology will always be in my blood and useful in my endeavors but it will never again be my primary source of income.

Hi all, I have 2 electrical engineering degrees but never wanted to be an engineer. And yet I practiced for years. Then a few years ago I moved out of engineering and moved around in the Fortune 100 I was working at, did everything from project management to sales ops to exec comms and still couldn't find my passion. Until I resigned from my 6-figure job to start my own business. Now I write books and do business coaching and create courses (just launching one to teach people how to leave a miserable job and switch careers as a mater of fact: Smart Exit Blueprint) and programs for a living and love it. Don't let one (or two) engineering degrees keep you stuck if you don't want to practice it anymore. You can do ANYTHING as long as you put your mind to it! :)

Tom, what kind of change are you looking for?

Comment by Tom Conley on February 20, 2012 at 3:20pm

I have degrees in Nuclear and Environmental Engineering. Do mostly management of various size projects. I like what I do but am ready for a change.
