How we help: We work exclusively with two groups of people, students and professionals in transition. We help high school and college students recognize their gifts and pursue their professional calling, and we help professionals find their next best fit. Our core values:
1. Integrity as it establishes and maintains trust.
2. Purpose We believe in the promise of Jer. 29:11.
3. Responsibility God is expecting something from us.
4. Teamwork The tipping point is when two reach agreement. (Matt 18:19)
5. Growth To reach new levels of greatness.
Because there's more to life than just a paycheck.

To live life according to someone else’s plans and expectations, not only weakens the seasoning, it waters down the wine. -JB

Unfortunately, living life, according to someone else’s tastes, is a pretty easy trap to fall into.

What if da Vinci chose to hid his artwork, Edison decided not to tinker in his shop, and Beethoven gave up his love for music?

Joel:

Thank you for the invite to join. I have accepted and hope to find wisdom and insight beyond my imagination. I can't believe the amount of people on here and why I didn't join years ago is beyond me but I am here now.

As I just posted on my blog I have a meeting tomorrow with the local SBA to discuss my mobile food trailer business ideas and how I can proceed with bringing "creole/cajun" food to "The County" -- Aroostook County, ME where I live. I feel the town I am living in is screaming for food diversity and having grown up in Louisiana I feel that I can offer the "authentic" style of food that I'm sure many try to do and is not authentic. I'm excited and nervouse at the same time.

Until later.......

Thank you for the invitation Joel. I am very excited at the opportunity to network with fellow Christians on a walk to self discovery to better all of our lives by serving Him more. I look forward to finding my way to do the work I love by finding out all the desires of my heart.

I've got a bit of a problem and I'm wondering if anyone has some suggestions for me. I'm off work right now due to a work-related injury and I'm fearful it might be long-term. It's not work that I enjoy but it does pay the bills and feed the family. The job has been physically beating me up for years and I think my aging body is just wearing down under the stress. I have several muscle tears and tendon injuries in my abdomen that are taking quite a while to heal. I feel terribly guilty being off work and the boss is laying in pretty hard about the money he's losing having me off. The doc says I'll probably be in worse shape if I go back before I recover but I'm not being paid and have no disability insurance so if I don't go back - we might lose the house. Some workers compensation should arrive eventually but when it does there still won't be enough to pay the bills. Furthermore, when I do return I am likely to sustain the same injury again unless my work makes changes. They are not likely to make many changes, if any, and I'm not sure I can expect them to. I may not be able to return to the job as it is at all. It's a bad time of year to be facing this since jobs are not being posted right now and expenses are high. It seems grim but maybe I'm missing something. Sometimes opportunity shows up in times like this but I think I'm too close to see it. I'm in a mode where I'm rushing to apply for any work I can find and that might be a mistake as well. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Does anyone know of a good way to supplement their income for a while? We are expecting our first child in April and I would like to save as much as possible. It seems that all the seasonal positions are filled for now. I have applied online and in person to many places. I'm sure I will figure something out-I just like to bounce these thing off of others. Thanks

The best thing about Facebook is that when I wonder off from my family here on 48days.net, some of our friends find me there and bring me back home, at least for a spell. Guess I'm still a "wonderer", but I'm getting better! :-) Thanks Joel for your invite to this group.
