...And they were right! I just sent out my first email newsletter using mailchimp. It was pretty straightforward and had lots of options - and at my level cost me $0. I have high hopes for my email newsletter as a marketing and promotion tool - and this was an excellent free entry into that activity. Thanks Ashley Logsdon for suggesting it at the Coaching with Excellence event. By the way, all are welcome to subscribe: http://eepurl.com/c_V4k

Out of curiousity Ken, how are you using the newsletter? What do you include in it? How often do you send it out? I am thinking of putting together a newsletter for my sight The 30 Year Old Ninja but am not quite sure how to utilize it.
Permalink Reply by Ken Gonyer on April 16, 2012 at 3:01pm Just getting started with it, but I'm trying to do what I see Dan Miller doing: blogging several times, then compiling the blog articles, an intro article and some ads/info about resources I offer. It is going to be weekly. My goal is to continually bring good content to the eyes of those who can use the help, hoping as well that it will build a relationship with readers and turn some into clients.

Cheers!

this came right on time, the company I used for my newsletter changed last week, I always thought you had to pay for Mailchimp...thanks for the info.
Permalink Reply by Stephen Borgman on April 23, 2012 at 7:07pm I personally use Aweber, but the main thing is that you're using something! Building your list of readers/community is key to making profits down the line, especially if we put service first and sales second :)
