Our vacation rental start-up is looking for a web developer. Looking at starting from the ground up and re-building the site in a new language as well as changing the business model of the site. We have looked at using WordPress or Expression Engine as the basis for the new site but would look at other options as well. Some of the new features we are looking to add will help set us apart from the other By Owner sites.
Ideally this person should be located in the Front Range of Colorado and would be brought into the company as part owner. We are looking for someone committed to the company for the long term. This can be a "nights and weekends" job. Will require front end and back end development work.
Our mission is to use vacation rentals as a way to give back to charity. You can check out our current site at www.meaningfulvacation.com to get an idea of what we do. Message me if you or someone you know would be interested.

May be a little advanced for me, but I'm willing to take a look and see. My two sites are KaioCommunications.com and TheWorkPreneur.com .
Do you have an email? Or email me at Ryan@KaioCommunications.com

I work on the Squarespace platform which is great for a number of website types and styles. Depending on the method you use to incorporate the property search it might work for what you need. However, if it requires a direct access to some sort of database I can't help. Squarespace doesn't allow any php to run on its servers.

I'd be more apt to look at Drupal to do this project. There simply isn't a more powerful platform available in terms of flexibility and extension. I've worked on sites like you're talking about, and my experience has been that it's a fairly straightforward (though not slow, or necessarily "easy") task when done with Drupal, you just need someone who knows what they're doing.
I'm in Florida, but work with clients all over the country (and have a few in Colorado). If you're interested in talking please contact me here.
