BUSY, BUSY, BUSY - America's staple point of success... Sometimes, we don't have enough time to plan. That is so weird ain't it. I find this to be a common trait with people I coach. "I just don't have enough time to plan," and yet the average American watches 35 hours of television a week.
However, what about those people who really are busy? Who really have their act together - well at least most of the time. The problem I have with planning is that I do plan, but I fail to tell my wife about it at times. Yikes! However, I think I found a solution to help with our lack of communication about my schedule.
I found this website called cozi.com which is an online planning software which is free. My wife and I can log on independently and add/subtract to the schedule. I am trying to record our "couple" time ahead before anything else and also schedule my clients around that time. This way she can see what times that I'm busy in case she wants to surprise me with a date or just needs some alone time with me. She has the ability to change my schedule as well - which is great!
Her most likely favorite part is the "to do" list section. I know, I know - the "honey-do" list has gone 2.0. She can update the list and it comes right onto my phone. I can pick up milk, see what the house needs done, and other "husband" duties required. She can put "clean the cat box" as part of my duties - a chore I "love" to do.
Anyway, I just want to share something that can definitely help any of those couples who may need this kind of help in terms of planning. I hope it's good for you the way it's been good for us!
Has the lack of communication on planning been difficult in your household?

You can even set it up now and learn to play with several different ways to remind yourself of things you need to buy, household chores, and so forth. It's never too early to set up a good time management system, especially when you're single!

Permalink Reply by Elmer Querubin on February 13, 2012 at 8:48am Hi Dan!
The website does sync with Outlook. I think that's the only program in syncs with. My wife and I tried using the Google calender and sharing it with each other, but it never really worked out for us. This has been the best family time management website we've used so far.
