Here is a link to a wordpress plugin that helps with SEO - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/

With the help of that plugin, it should help with SEO.

SEO is about a lot more than just a Wordpress plugin.  That isn't a bad idea, but what keywords will you be targeting?  Will you go after long-tail keywords?  What kind of quality content will you be providing with the proper keyword density so as to get noticed without being all spammy?  What is your competition in your niche?  I wish it was as easy as a free theme, or even a free theme and a free plugin, but like most things, you don't get a whole lot for free.  I'm learning about SEO, and it is a tough game that is ever changing as Google updates their algorithms.
