Kim and I learned a great deal and gave us some amazing framework to move to forward with our plans. The people we met and connected with are an exciting crowd with great things coming in the future. For those that missed, YOU MISSED SOMETHING SPECIAL!!!!!!!

One of the creative things that took place is the workbook. It was not a "normal" workbook. It had coloring pages at different points. Kim and I stopped after the first day and bought colored pencils. That evening we talked about what we learned and colored. It was a fun.

Now I know we were not the only ones coloring, so let's share what we did in the book and some of where you are since Innovate.

Here is my coloring page.

Innovate 2016 gave what I need to figure out my market and how what I have been working on fits this. It also gave me time to practice my "elevator speech" to see how it resonates. The chance to hear others and why they were at Innovate confirmed not just what I want to do, but the why behind it. I will share more about that later. This was a pivotal event. Here is the fun thing, I am not in the creative space as my main focus. I am in the Burnout/Exhaust Out space and life transition space. I don't believe in retirement. That being said, I do want to use the creative to carry the message. As photographer and someone that has been in live performance production on the technical end, I know the power of the arts to enhance a message. I plan to use this in the speaking presentations.

So let me put in a shameless plug for Innovate. Though this may be aimed at those who want a career in the creative space it is not solely for them. If you understand the power of sight, sound, movement, word, and so much more that makes realm of art and need to figure out how it plugs into a less creative message, it doesn't. If you truly understand art, you understand the message plugs into the art to amplify, clarify, and rarefy it. Art is to a message what an Marshal amplifier is to a Fender guitar. You may be able to play it for a few people to hear, but Woodstock will not be the result. (It's a Jimi Hendrix reference and your telling your age if you get. For the rest of you, Google it.)

So if you want to see how you message and art can get more attention, plan to be at the next Innovate.

Here is my first page to share. Oh, and there are only 12 colors in the set and used here.

Over coming fear tag:48days.net,2016-06-25:2366608:Topic:1083309 2016-06-25T20:36:51.373Z The Chris Puckett http://48days.net/profile/TheChrisPuckett
I've long wanted to be a speaker and author but fear has kept me back from following through. Mine is not fear of failure though, it's fear of success. I've often worried that if I succeed people would think I'm a fraud, or not like me, or even say bad things about me because I come from a horrible past. I was in jail over a dozen times before I was 25, I was a drunk, a thief and hurt a lot of people in the past. Some even with physical violence. I've lived in regret and fear as long as I could, and now I am coming out fully alive, and fully transparent. As I come through Celebrate Recovery I realized that I am forgiven of these offenses and that the people I'm trying to reach and support will also be coming from the darkness and pain that I've come from. They won't care what I've done, they'll hopefully be thankful for someone who understands what they're going through. I'm not here to find a way to just make money anymore. I'm to spread a message and help lead men from darkness to a brighter future. Yes, I have a jaded past, and I yes am not perfect, but I am forgiven and there is no reason why I can't go forward happy and fulfilled in this life.
Our own Deby Dearman shares the story of losing her voice and finding another one tag:48days.net,2016-06-24:2366608:Topic:1083160 2016-06-24T16:02:33.316Z Harvey Ramer http://48days.net/profile/HarveyRamer
Deby was a well-known singer who lost her voice and, as a result, lost her career. I work with a group of guys who I just don't connect with and we might as well be from different planets. The culture is drinking, cheating, and cursing. Not a great atmosphere by any means. A lot of forced overtime which means less time for family. I'm having anxiety problems I've never had before, sleepless nights, and my heart beating out of my chest. I have this guy feeling that I was chasing money and made the wrong choice. Am I being too hard on myself considering it's only been two months? I even tried going back to school to get a counseling degree but failed to follow through. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I was doing just what the coaches and trainers were saying to do. Signed up to every social media site in existence, wrote a blog, had a podcast and so on. I finally figured it out! The year before last, a friend asked me to help him set up a Celebrate Recovery group at our church. He knew the businesses I was trying to start and my passion to help others. We failed miserably. Earlier this year he called again and said a church in the town west of us wanted to start a Celebrate Recovery group and asked if he would lead it. He asked if I wanted to help, again. This time he'd reach out to one of our sister churches for support and they were willing to train us. We attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting at that church and almost immediately I knew what I had been doing wrong. I realized that I wasn't over my own past. It dawned on me that I had no business trying to lead a group or coaching at that point because I couldn't help anyone else until I helped myself. I'm proud to say that I've taken my recovery seriously, gone through the steps and as a result I've been invited to step up as a group leader. I will begin leadership training soon and will be equipped to help lead others in Christ based recovery. In addition I have been asked to prepare and give my testimony at a meeting, and then our church. I am hoping to share that testimony with other churches in our area so that we can continue to grow, expand Celebrate Recovery in our region and help even more people. Even though this all volunteer, I finally feel I doing what I was called to do. I have a great employer that is highly flexible and allows my the time off when needed to participate in training and meetings.

"Never walk alone!" has become my new motto. Before, I tried to be the "one man show" and do everything on my own. But now I've learned the value in trusting others.
Need help with legal aspect of retail re-selling tag:48days.net,2016-06-17:2366608:Topic:1082602 2016-06-17T22:04:39.047Z Mark Johnston http://48days.net/profile/MarkJohnston Hi guys, quick question. I currently buy a certain item at a retail store, modify it, and resell it for use with Yeti and Tervis mugs. I sell to friends and family by word of mouth. My idea is to make an e-book outlining my process and show people how to make these themselves. It would actually promote more sales of both retail items. Is there any legal roadblock to this?
