Comment by Erin Casey on March 20, 2012 at 8:22pm Lynne, thanks so much for the review. I was surprised b/c the book is just barely on Amazon... I'm impatiently waiting for my hard copies to arrive.
Sounds like next year is going to be exciting! I hope you can join us next time. Please share the word with any coaches, speakers or writers you know who may benefit.
Comment by Lynne Watts on March 20, 2012 at 6:22pm Erin, I would absolutely love to attend this... maybe next year. I have a lot of responsibilities at the end of the school year and this is very tempting but not possible. My goal is to perhaps retire next year (shhh it's a secret) and if that happens it might be a possibility for next year. Loved your latest book BTW, I finally finished it and left you a review on Amazon. Best wishes!
Comment by Erin Casey on March 20, 2012 at 10:51am If your Spring “Break” was anything like mine, you probably didn’t get a whole lot of personal writing done. Between keeping up with clients’ projects and trying to spend at least a little time with my kids, my personal writing (blogs, research for the next Zany Zia book, and a devotional) got pushed aside.
Honestly, that happens a lot… not just during Spring Break. I have to MAKE TIME to complete my personal writing projects. I often use the phrase, “carve time out of my schedule,” because that’s exactly what it feels like. Carving isn’t easy. If you’re carving wood, it takes a significant amount of effort. And even if you’re carving something soft like icing or clay, it takes attention to detail, concentration, focus, and just the right amount of pressure.
That’s one reason I’m excited about our upcoming My Writers’ Connection Workshop, Retreat & Cruise, May 3 – 7. It’s a long weekend of pre-carved time. Those few days include blocks of time devoted exclusively to writing. Imagine how much you could get done if you had from Thursday evening through Sunday night to focus on crafting your message. (If you’re an early riser, you can also include Monday morning!)
In addition to uninterrupted writing time, we’ll be offering several workshop sessions to help you improve your writing and increase your income. Mix in a beautiful beach, blue water and tropical breezes, and it’s the perfect writing weekend. Even better, once you get on the boat, you don’t have to worry about making dinner (or picking up take-out), washing laundry or the dishes, carpooling, seeing clients, answering the phone, or responding to emails. Your only responsibilities on this retreat are to write and recharge.
The My Writers’ Connection Workshop, Retreat and Cruise is for you if…
• You are a coach who wants to write a book in order to boost your credibility, but you don’t know where to start.
• You are a speaker and you know you need a book to sell at the back of a room, but can’t find the time to get your ideas on paper.
• You want to post a blog weekly but only post once a month (or less!) because you’re so busy.
• You want to share your message, but aren’t sure how to organize your thoughts.
• You want to increase your income as a freelance writer, author, coach or speaker.
What are you waiting for? Register today and make time for your writing projects!
